iPod, iPhone, & MP3 Player Questions
Q) What iPod / iPhone models does the iPlay support?
A) The iPlay can play music from current and future iPod and iPhone mobile digital devices. Some of the older models do not utilize the current connector and may not be able to be charged by the iPlay. In these cases, just connect the headphone output to the 3.5mm input jack on the side of the drawer for your audio input to the intercom system.
Q) Do I need a Dock Adapter?
A) Yes. The Dock Adapter insures that your iPod or iPhone properly fi ts into the docking area and undue stress is not placed on the
docking connection.
Q) Where do I get Dock Adapters?
A) You should have received a Dock Adapter with your iPod or iPhone. You can order replacement Dock Adapters at the Apple store (http://store.apple.com/us).
Q) How do I select my music?
A) All music controls are accessed using the iPod or MP3 player’s controls.
Q) How do I adjust the music playing volume?
A) When your iPod is plugged into the docking port, the internal speaker is deactivated and the volume control is managed by the DMC1 master control unit. If the 3.5mm input jack is being used, the MP3 player’s volume control will be the master volume control and the DMC1 volume control operates as a secondary volume control.
Q) Can I import music from the CD to my iPod?
A) No. The iPlay is only a player and does not have any processing capability. It does not support iTunes or any other computer software.
Q) Can I use the iPlay as a standalone iPod/iPhone/CD player?
A) No. It is not a complete audio system and must be used with an M&S Systems DMC1 or DMC3-4 intercom systems from Linear.
Q) Can I play my iPod and charge my cell phone using the USB Port?
A) Maybe. The iPod connector and USB share the available power. Depending on the individual devices, there may not be enough power to adequately charge either device. It is strongly recommended that only 1 device be charged at a time.
Q) What about my iPad?
A) You can play music from your iPad utilizing the 3.5mm input jack on the iPlay slide out tray. However, the iPlay will not charge or
hold the iPad.

Q) Does the 3.5mm audio input jack support all music players?

Q) How much weight will the slide out tray support?
A) Up to 20 pounds, but it is not recommended that you apply that much pressure to the iPlay.
CD Player Questions
Q) How many CDs does it play?
A) One.
Q) What type of CDs will this play?
A) Standard music CDs, CD-R and CD-RW burned in standard CDA audio format, and MP3 audio fi les burned onto CD-R and
