This system not only has the home radio intercom but also includes an iPod/iPhone dock in the master unit.  But it doesn't stop there-each room can play their own iPod,iPhone, independently of each other.  Now your conversation between speakers won't be heard by everyone.  The initial call on this system goes over the entire system then once the call is answered the conversation becomes private between the two speakers.

The Retro M system by Intrasonic Technology is perfect to upgrade your existing intercom system (for use with 3,4,6 or 7 wire systems)

1) RETRO-D Retrofit door station with built in chime and 4 selectable notes NOTE-if replacing a Nutone door speaker a RETRO-DAP (sold separately) is needed.
 

The RETRO-MAB Master Adaptor Brackets and RETRO-MTP Master Trim Plate give you the ability to install the new RETRO-M master unit into the existing rough-in.  The Trim Plate is used to eliminate the need for dry wall repair in most cases.  You are able to replace the existing intercom master without removing the existing rough-in box in most cases.
